Italian outfit Nova Race ready to support TKS effort in Michelin Le Mans Cup French opener
The 2018 sportscars season is set to start from France for Nova Race. From April 11 on, the Reggio Emilia, Italy-based squad will move to Circuit Paul Ricard where a collective testing session will bunch up the entire Michelin Le Mans Cup field. This test translates into a warm-up to the first round of the 2018 Michelin Le Mans Cup, scheduled on April 14.
Nova Race have been picked by Japan's TKS team to run and operate its entries in this renowned European sportscars series. A lone Ginetta LMP3 will be fielded in Southern France, as Japan's race driver Shinyo Sano will share the wheel with Nova Race team owner Luca Magnoni.
Nova Race is keen to be back in the fray alongside the Japanese driver, as it was the case when Sano made his debut at famed Le Mans circuit in 2017. Sano, who is a mainstay of Asian Le Mans Series, is also set to take part to the Monza meeting on May 12th and to the very anticipated Road To Le Mans race, scheduled at the historic Sarthe track on June 16th.
However, at those venues Sano will have another team mate on his side, as the Varese, Italy-based driver will stick to his Italian GT schedule. The line-up for the yellow Ginetta LMP3 will be announced at a later stage, as well as entries further to the Le Mans meeting.
Of late, the Nova Race executive ranks have been reinforced, as experienced team manager Giorgio Piccolo and crew chief Nicola Sinigaglia have joined the Italian sportscars team.
