LUCA MAGNONI (GINETTA G55 GT4) CLAIMS THE FIRST 2016 EURO SERIES BY NOVA RACE WIN IN BARCELONA
Reggio Emilia, 6th April 2016. The first out of six rounds of 2016 Euro Series by Nova Race has been held last weekend in Barcelona in a mixed grid with the Campeonato de España Resistencia. Following the agreement reached with Vline’s Francesc Gutierrez, the organizer of CER, the program consisted in one 2-hour race instead of two of almost one hour each one, but in an extraordinary contest, with more the 50 cars at the start.
In Spain the first winner was Luca Magnoni, sixth overall and leader of the Euro Series class at the wheel of the Ginetta G55 GT4. Behind him the twin car shared by Andrea Peregreffi (who made his comeback as a driver), Andrea Marchesini and Ivo Tsonev, with the latter showing a spectacular recovery, taking the second place at the very last lap and celebrating his first podium.
Andrea Mosca finished third and topped the Euro Series Plus standings with a Renault Mégane Trophy of Zero Racing. In the same class Vincenzo Montalbano and Alberto Gabbiazzi scored the second place despite a previous contact.
The third place in the Euro Series class was for Paolo Meloni and Massimiliano Tresoldi, sharing a BMW M3 E92 ex Superstars, who suffered in the last laps an electric problem. Same issue for the other German car lined-up by the San Marino-based team for Walter Palazzo and Mauro Trentin. Oliver Freymouth had to retire in the first part of the race due to some problems too.
The next round of the Euro Series by Nova Race is now scheduled for 29 Apri-1 May at the Monza track, together with the Aci Sport championships.
