talian Luca Magnoni and Norwegian Aleksander Schjerpen are back in their GT4 Ginetta, resuming their title chase just seven points behind the top
Nearly four months removed from its last meeting staged at Misano Adriatico, the Italian GT Endurance Championship is back on track as the Vallelunga 3 Hours looms. As the third and penultimate 2019 lurks, the GT4 provisional points standings encompass five drivers bunched up in a very crowded first place: 3 are BMW men (Fontana, Fascicolo and Guerra) alongside 2 Porsche guys (Ghezzi and Chiesa). As yet the Italian GT Endurance turned out being the series where the Nova Race drivers gave their best this year: Luca Magnoni and Aleksander Schjerpen are currently third in the ranking, just seven stones behind the provisional series leaders, all level on 27 points. But the Italian-Norwegian duo is also level with three more Porsche drivers (Gnemmi, Neri and Pera) and two points behind Ruberti, who's occupying the runner-up spot in the GT4 championship all alone. Since Magnoni and Schjerpen already have a zero in their boxscore after Misano's DNF, the next round is likely a tipping point for their season.
The G55 GT4 built by the British firm will face the greener Caymans and M4s at the scenic Roman venue starting next Friday 13, as free practices are scheduled from 10:15 to 11:15 and from 14:30 to 15:30. On Saturday 14, after a third free practice session from 9:05 to 10:05, the qualifying session is scheduled from 15:20 to 16:25. On Sunday 15th the drivers will leave the grid for the race formation lap staring at 2.30pm. Live domestic broadcast on AutomotoTV (SKY channel n. 228) is confirmed, whereas fans from abroad can follow the 3 Hours race streamed on the promoter website www.acisport.it.
