PAVEL LEFTEROV TAKES DOUBLE AT SPA IN THE FOURTH ROUND OF EURO SERIES BY NOVA RACE
Euro Series by Nova Race has a new star. At Spa-Francorchamps, in the fourth out of six rounds of the 2015 season, Pavel Lefterov claimed a double victory. 17-year-old Bulgarian driver, at his debut in the championship with less then 30 hours of races in other series under his belt, brought twice the ASC Bulavto Racing-powered Lotus Evora in first position, after he set the best quicklap in both the qualifying sessions.
After a two-month break, the Euro Series by Nova Race offered more surprises, although Oliver Freymouth was able to mantain the leadership in the Overall and ES+ standings thanks the second place he scored in Race 2 with the Mégane Trophy. The AKF Motorsport German driver – who already claimed two wins at Paul Ricard and Red Bull Ring – finished eight in Race 1 due to a spin in the wet condition.
More productive was the Fredrik Blomstedt and Marko Helistekangas weekend. The Scandinavian crew finished second and third with their Ginetta G50 car. So they reduced their gap from Freymouth in the Overall standings to seven points, continuing to lead among the Under 25 and ES drivers.
With Manuel Lasagni missing this round after he won a race at Le Castellet, Luca Magnoni honored the Italian flag with a fourth place in Race 1, driving another Ginetta G50 car. Under the spotlights also the Buggy Experience duo Javier Ibran-Mathjis Bakker, who shared the wheel of a Ginetta G55 scoring the fifth position in Race 2 behind Simeon Ivanov.
José Luis Talermann and Diego Mendez did a good job despite their poor experience as they were at their first appearance on a difficult track such as Spa-Francorchamps and didn’t complete any test before. The Argentineans finished sixt in Race 1 with a Nova Race Ginetta G50, just behind their team mate Ivailo Tzonev.
After the first appointments in France, Slovakia, Austrian and Belgium, the Euro Series by Nova Race is now set to face the last two rounds in Italy, at Misano (27th September) and Mugello (18th October), in the same weekends of the Aci Sport championships.
